Switch to HomeSomm from any wine app or spreadsheet
You do not need to retype your collection. Export a CSV or Excel file from CellarTracker, InVintory, Oeni, Viniou, or Vivino, upload a PDF, or take a photo of a handwritten list. HomeSomm reads the columns, lets you review each bottle, and imports the lot in minutes.

Status: HomeSomm is in early access and launches in 2026. Features described here are the planned launch scope, and competitor details are accurate as of 2026-09-20.
Three steps
Nothing here needs a spreadsheet editor.
- 1. Export or photograph your existing list. CSV and Excel work best; PDF and photos are also accepted.
- 2. In HomeSomm, go to Add and choose Import a list.
- 3. Confirm the mapped columns and import. Bottles appear in your cellar immediately.
Supported sources
Most wine apps can export your inventory. The exact menu differs, but the data is usually the same: producer, wine name, vintage, region, quantity, and drinking window.
- CellarTracker: export your cellar as CSV
- InVintory, Oeni, Viniou: export as CSV or Excel
- Vivino: export your cellar list where available
- Any spreadsheet: CSV or Excel with the columns you already have
- A photo of a handwritten list or a PDF invoice
What carries over, and what does not
Carried over: producer, wine name, vintage, varietal, country, region, quantity, storage location, purchase price, drink-from and drink-until dates, your own notes and scores.
Left behind: community tasting notes written by other users, forum activity, valuations, and 3D cellar layouts. Those belong to the source app, not to your inventory.
Gaps get filled automatically
Older exports often lack serving temperature, decant time, taste profile, or a structured drinking window. Tap Fill with AI on a bottle and those fields populate from the producer, vintage, and region.
You can edit every field afterwards, and nothing is overwritten without you confirming it.
Frequently asked questions
- Will importing create duplicates?
- Matching producer, wine name, and vintage are merged into a single bottle with a combined quantity rather than duplicated rows.
- Can I keep using my old app as well?
- Yes. Importing a file into HomeSomm does not change or delete anything in CellarTracker, InVintory, Oeni, Viniou, Vivino, or wherever the list came from.
- Does the import cost anything?
- No. Import is available on the free plan and bottles are unlimited on every plan. Premium only changes the AI limits, household invites, and MCP access.
- What if I only have a photo of my list?
- Upload the photo and HomeSomm will read the visible bottles. You review each recognised entry before it is saved, so a blurry line or unusual name can be corrected by hand.

Unlimited bottles, free. Premium is one subscription for the whole household: unlimited AI and assistant access, at a fraction of what comparable wine apps charge.
