A CellarTracker alternative with a modern interface

HomeSomm is a CellarTracker alternative for people who want the inventory and the drinking windows without the 2005 interface or the community database. You keep the same data, imported from a CellarTracker CSV, and gain an AI sommelier that recommends only from bottles you own.

What CellarTracker still does better

CellarTracker holds millions of user tasting notes and community scores, built since 2003. If you read other collectors' notes before opening a bottle, nothing replaces it.

It is also free to use with a voluntary contribution, and it handles very large cellars with bin and slot detail.

Where HomeSomm is a better fit

HomeSomm answers one question well: what should we open tonight with this meal. It reads your drinking windows and your current stock, then gives two or three picks with a reason.

It is household-first. One subscription covers two people, and both see the wine shelf update in real time when one of you opens a bottle.

  • Mobile-first interface designed for a phone in the kitchen
  • Label scan or AI auto-fill instead of manual field entry
  • Drink-me-first list based on each bottle's window
  • No community database to learn, no forum, no marketplace

Moving your cellar over

CellarTracker exports your inventory as CSV. HomeSomm maps the standard columns (producer, vintage, varietal, region, quantity, location, drink-by) on import.

A 300-bottle export typically imports in under a minute, and anything the file does not cover can be filled in by AI per bottle.

Frequently asked questions

Does HomeSomm work with CellarTracker imports?
Yes. Export your cellar from CellarTracker as a CSV and import it into HomeSomm; producer, vintage, varietal, region, quantity, location, and drink-by columns are mapped automatically.
Is CellarTracker free?
CellarTracker is free with a voluntary annual contribution, typically $40 or more for full features. HomeSomm's free plan tracks unlimited bottles for one user with capped AI use, and Premium covers the whole household with one subscription.
Will I lose my tasting notes?
Your own notes and scores come across in the CSV. Community notes written by other CellarTracker users stay on CellarTracker.
